You don’t have to be a Hollywood celebrity to dream of having beautiful teeth. One of the first things that people notice when you step into a room is your smile, and if you are afraid to show your teeth because of discoloration, crooked teeth or other problems, Westwood Family Dental has the solution.

Veneers are made of porcelain or a resin material. Ultra-thin, Veneers require little downtime and can dramatically improve your appearance. Veneers are used to brighten teeth and cover up discolorations. Veneers can last for years as long as you practice good dental hygiene.

You can cover up your chipped front teeth or fill in the discolored fillings that have been bothering you for years. Veneers can also help teeth that have been stained by antibiotics such as tetracycline. Veneers are also perfect to cover up a root canal or damage from an injury.

When you schedule an appointment with Dr. Toubian, she will examine your teeth to see if you are a good candidate for veneers. If you are, you can expect two or three appointments. These scheduled appointments will include diagnosis, treatment planning, veneer preparation, and veneer bonding.

Remember to take part when you plan your smile. Make sure that Dr. Toubian understands exactly what your objectives are.

During veneer preparation, Dr. Toubian will buff your teeth so that your ultra-thin veneers look completely natural buffing about a half of a millimeter off your teeth. After your tooth is buffed, Dr. Toubian will carefully bond and sculpt your new veneers onto your teeth. If you are having porcelain veneers, a mold will be taken of your teeth in order to fabricate your new veneers. Porcelain veneers usually take two appointments to complete. Veneers made out of composite resin can usually be placed in just one appointment.

Veneers are not perfect replacements, but will resemble your natural teeth, and although you may see slight variations, which even happens in natural teeth, veneers can greatly improve your smile.
